Woah, okay – it seems I've neglected this side of my blog again. In fact, I'm already into the second half of the semester! Despite this, I will share with you what I have completed so far into the school year. Many of my sketches and such have been seemingly smaller and more minimalist, but I think that's because I've been experimenting with my art style more freely. I'm not completely pleased with their final results, but honestly – when is an artist ever satisfied with his or her work? I never feel that satisfaction, anyway.
The primary focus of my recent artwork has been pen and ink, a medium which I haven't used that much until this year. It has allowed me to gradually work out of my comfort zone – the safety of a pencil and a handy eraser. Because of this, I've been learning to cover up any mistakes along the drawing process. I've also been exploring digital art with different drawing/layering apps. This was especially challenging because I have absolutely no prior knowledge and experience with it. I love the dynamic simplicity of black and white, yet I do love light pastels of pinks and blues. ♡
