What are your opinions on writing?
The letter grade you receive isn’t nearly as rewarding as the experience and knowledge you gain by earning it. Writing is far more than an effortless combination of letters arranged on a page. It tells a story. It conveys a unique sense of emotion and purpose that goes far beyond an ample amount of facts or opinions. The temporary impact of speaking only lasts for a few short moments, whereas writing and its significant influence on one’s self can last for a lifetime. The quality of a writing piece can often be mistaken for its quantity. In my opinion, there is nothing worse than reading something that which the author is obviously bored with. A well-structured paper should be clear and concise and be free of incorrect writing conventions. While a well-written piece should not be bombarded with exclamation points, it should strike a healthy balance between a passionate and formal tone of voice. Perhaps the most overlooked, but essential aspect in writing an essay is its purpose. An essay should not be comprised of unnecessary statements that cease to provide evidence to support the overall thesis. The way in which an essay is organized should be effective in terms of how such points of evidence correlate with one another. If my ideas compliment each other and flow together smoothly, I’ll feel rather confident in having written the piece to the best of my ability.

What are some of the best, most memorable books you've read?
Where do you see yourself in the future? What do you strive to achieve / pursue? My goal is to have a career in the film/CGI field that would best compliment my passion for both art and film production. This past summer, I researched future college endeavors and potential career pathways. I was able to communicate online with editors from the television shows Atlantis and Merlin about their respective jobs. They were able to give in-depth recommendations regarding school/college information and experiences I would need to pursue for various careers involving film production/editing. My passion for filmmaking by means of editing movie trailers derived from my exploration of the field in the Gifted and Talented program. The experience and knowledge I gained over the summer has greatly aided my assignments and projects in the VREP (Virtual Reality Education Pathways) program as well. With the strong foundation of both good character and academic achievement that I’ve established for myself, my intention is to be accepted into the college that will best enhance my skills, abilities, and talents in this field of study.
This week has not been very eventful. In fact, I can hardly distinguish the past three days because they've been so similar. It's rather frustrating. I feel worn down and tend to get confused over whether or not I have done certain tasks. I hopefully I will have more ambition this coming week. Trying to manage two writing classes at the same time can feel a bit overwhelming for me at times, but I'm trying my best to put forth my best effort into the extensive assignments I am given. I'll probably look back on this post tomorrow and laugh. I'm being so dramatic. (ノ `・∀・)ノ゙
You may recall a recent post of mine where I rambled on and on about my fascination with the latest (and most highly anticipated) installment in the Star Wars franchise, which graced big screens across the globe last month. As much as I completely adore Episode VII, one cannot forget so easily where (and evidently, when) it all began. Why am I writing this post, you ask? The whole atmosphere and charm of the original trilogy had stuck a chord with me ever since I had first viewed the 1977 film when I was a naive, out of place eleven-year-old. The magic of these films was a rare something that I had not witnessed before. As for me - a child who was in the awkward process of transforming into an adolescent - these films embodied a compelling space fantasy of childlike reverie, all the while embodying a rather genuine sense of human philosophy that I was all but oblivious to at the time.
The first semester of the school year has come to a close, and as you could assume, my Creative Writing I class has ended as well. But that's certainly not to say that this blog will go completely dormant. Today marks as part two of my journey as a writer this school year, as I am now taking Creative Writing II. This class does not entail that I will write a blogpost every day, but rather three times per week. This actually pleases me as I will now have more time to put in quality posts. A number of the prompts I wrote last semester fell pretty short in length, and are a bit cringeworthy now that I scroll past them. Some obviously look like I was desperate to write anything, while others are just plain sarcastic due to how often I had to conjure up something. Inspiration has a way of disappearing when you need it most, doesn't it? I have a feeling this new class will give me a new wave of new ideas that I can explore independently, as not so much emphasis is put on the number of posts or words I must write on this blog.
T'was the night before finals, and all through the house, not a dog was stinky, not even my mousepad.

— Initially, this page was where I documented my daily prompts for a writing class in high school, but I'll continue to post my thoughts here every once in a while. I might also post some dissertations / research I've done here in college. categories:archives:
